COURSES: Student may select the course(s) he/she wishes to take and receive dual credit. The Georgia Department of Education has specific high school courses that correlate with specific college courses. Courses list available on the GACollege411 at Move On When Ready Course Directory.
APPROVAL FROM GHS IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE COLLEGE COURSE. A copy of the student's college schedule is required prior to each semester.
Conditions and Considerations
The grades earned in MOWR courses will be included in high school GPA, HOPE GPA and college GPA. Grades and courses will also be factored into class rank. Letter grades reported from college are recorded as mid numerical grade (A=95, B=85, C=75, D=70). Failing a MOWR course may jeopardize high school graduation and will result in termination from the MOWR program.
Drop/add dates will differ between GHS and the colleges. MOWR students are not allowed to withdraw or add a course without first meeting with their GHS counselor. Student must inform the high school counselor, in writing, of any course changes during the semester. If student withdraws from a course without permission, he/she will no longer be eligible for the MOWR program at GHS.
Credits earned through MOWR may or may not transfer to another postsecondary institution. Determinations of transfer credit are made by the receiving institution.
